Edificio La Merced
Located in one of the oldest venues in the Old Quarter, this building dating back to 1865 was completely restored and included the creation of 5 exclusive apartments built around a cozy courtyard, each with a unique design, patios, balconies or terraces.
The building, which was in ruins at the beginning of the restoration, was recovered following the best methods for consolidation of masonry walls. The façade facing Central Avenue was restored using original features like railings for the balconies and the cornice, with its original completely exposed.
The façade facing the Plaza Herrera sought to maintain the original configuration of the structure built in a “U” shape, which opens onto the Plaza Herrera. In the lower level you can see the original basket-handle arch, originally used for the passage of carriages.
